Ray Seggern is a lifelong storyteller, marketer, and advocate for underdogs—whether they’re entrepreneurs on Main Street or misfits in the music scene. A 20-year partner with the acclaimed Wizard of Ads® group, Ray has built a reputation for quickly diagnosing marketing challenges and helping businesses not just grow, but dominate their categories by leaning into what makes them unique.
Ray’s entrepreneurial roots stretch back to the elementary school playground, where he sold cinnamon toothpicks to classmates. He parlayed that early pitchman spirit into careers in radio—as both an on-air personality and head of promotions—and later founded his own newspaper as a writer and publisher. That journey ultimately led him to Roy H. Williams and the Wizard of Ads® team, where his passion for helping small business owners thrive found its perfect outlet.
His speaking career includes a TEDx appearance in San Antonio and headlining in front of a crowd of 2,500 at Caesar’s Palace for Success Group International. Known for his quick wit, strategic mind, and creative instincts, Ray is also an executive producer and filmmaker based in Austin, Texas. He has contributed to more than a dozen film projects, including the award-winning documentary Fathers of Football, and serves as Executive Producer on the celebrated music documentary Bloody and Bruised: The Untold Story of the Back Room. His upcoming directorial debut, Voice of the Bulldogs, marks a new chapter in his creative work, as does his collaboration with acclaimed director Bryan Poyser on the feature film LEADS.
Outside of business and film, Ray serves on the board of the Zachary Horton Foundation, extending his commitment to community and connection into meaningful non-profit work.
Now an active member of Abundance Studios®, Ray calls the creative tribe a natural home: “Nick’s a fabulous artist to learn from and it’s a really amazing tribe of forward-thinking creative and entrepreneurial types.”
Whether on the air, behind the camera, or across a boardroom table, Ray Seggern helps ideas—and the people behind them—get the audience they deserve.
